<br />and Resolution of South Main Improvement Association advocating the extension of
<br />Edinger Street eastward to McClay Street and eventual 1 y to the Santa Aha Freeway,
<br />and recommending tb-t the Counc~_l take action to further the procurement of the
<br />rights-of-way necessary for the extension of Edinger Street eastward to McClay
<br />
<br />Street, were received, filed and the matter directed to the Manager for recommendation.
<br />On motion of Councilmsn ~al 1, seconded by Gould and carried, the resignation of
<br />
<br />W. K. Lindsay, as Chairman and member of the Planning Commission, effective ~mmediately,
<br />was accepted with regret and the Clerk directed to send a letter of commendation
<br />to him for his services on the Commission.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Gould and seconded by Hubbard that H. Walter Steiner he
<br />nominated as a member of the Planning Commission, due to the resignation of W. K.
<br />Lindsay. On motion of Couac~lm-- Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the
<br />appointment of H. Walter Steiner, as a member of the Planning C~aission, tem to
<br />
<br />expire July 1, 1959, was approved.

<br />seconded by Hubbard and carried, the application to solicit i~nds was denied, with-
<br />out prejudice.

<br />On motion of Counc~lm~n Hubbard, seconded by Ball and carried, bond in the sum of
<br />$23,000.00, filed by 0r8nge County Development Cumpany, for the improvement of
<br />property located on the east side of Pacific Avenue between Wilshire and Fairview
<br />Avenues, in Tract No. 3244, was ordered released and improvements accepted as
<br />completed.
<br />on motion of Co%ulc~lm~n Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the request of the
<br />Department of Public Werks was granted and plans were approved for 2300 feet 12 inch
<br />concrete cylinder water pipe line for Beverly Place between Main and Halladay Street;
<br />the Purchasing Agent authorized to prepare specifications amd advertise for bids to
<br />be opened March 2, 1959.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc~lm-n Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids for one P~wer street sweeper, per Specification
<br />No. 624-6; bids to be opened February 16, 1959.
