KLG:ar <br />8/28/79 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-168 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE <br />TO ACCEPT A GRANT FOR SANTA ANA'S PRISONER <br />AND OFFICER SAFETY PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to undertake a <br />certain project designated "Prisoner and Officer Safety" to <br />be funded in part from funds made available through the <br />Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL 90- <br />351, as amended, (hereafter referred to as the Crime Control <br />Act) administered by the Law Enforcement Assistance Admin- <br />istration (hereafter referred to as LEAA); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore, on May 7, 1979, <br />authorized submission of a grant application for such funds, <br />which has since been approved by LEAA; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That the action of the Chief of Police in executing <br />on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, and submitting to LEAA <br />that certain "Application for Federal Assistance with <br />Attached OCJP Form 502 revised 7-1-76," identified as the <br />Prisoner and Officer Safety Grant, a copy of which is on <br />file with the Clerk of the Council, is hereby ratified and <br />approved and the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to <br />execute and accept any grant award that may result therefrom. <br /> <br /> 2. That the City of Santa Ana agrees to provide all <br />matching funds required for said project (including any <br />extension or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act <br />and the rules and regulations of the Law Enforcement <br />Assistance Administration and that cash will be appropriated <br />as required thereby. <br /> <br /> 3.
