JN :hg <br />8/16/79 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-169 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING PARTICIPATION OF THE SANTA <br />ANA POLICE DEPARTmeNT IN THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY <br />PATROL'S ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PPDGRAM <br />FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 1979 THROUGH JUNE 30, <br />1980 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has, with the <br />approval of the City Council, been participating in the <br />Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program of the California High- <br />way Patrol (CHP) under a contract with the CHP; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute a renewal of said <br />contract for the period from July 1, 1979 through June 30, <br />1980 in order to continue Santa Ana's eligibility to receive <br />assistance under the Program through the Abandoned Vehicle <br />Trust Fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has reviewed the success <br />of the City's involvement in the Program to date and recom- <br />mends continued participation with the CHP according to the <br />terms of the renewal contract submitted to the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana that the City Council approves fur- <br />ther participation of the City in the Abandoned Vehicle <br />Abatement Program for the period from July 1, 1979 through <br />June 30, 1980 and hereby authorizes the Chief of Police to <br />enter into a contract with the CHP setting forth terms and <br />conditions of the City's participation in said Program and <br />further authorizes him to execute said contract on behalf <br />of the City. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this lst day of <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />October , 1979, by <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />COUNCIL~N: <br />COUNCILMEN: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, <br /> Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br /> <br />ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />KEITH L.
