RESOLUTION NO. 80-47 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD <br />ASSIGNMENT PAY DIFFERENTIAL TO CLASS OF POLICE <br />SERVICE OFFICER FOR POSITION ASSIGNED ADDED <br />RESPONSIBILITIES AS POLICE MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all <br />officers and employees of the City of Santa Aha; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa <br />Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position class- <br />ification and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the <br />approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to recognize the assignment of additional duties <br />and responsibilities to one position in the class of Police Service Officer <br />involving the development and implementation of specialized public information and <br />media relations projects and programs of a promotional nature for the Police <br />Department by establishing a special assignment pay differential to compensate the <br />performance of said duties. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further <br />amended by adding the following pay differential designation to the list of such <br />designations footnoted at the end of Section 3: <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />An incumbent of the class of Police Service Officer who <br />is continuously and regularly assigned to perform and <br />actually performs duties as a police media relations <br />officer involving the development and implementation of <br />specialized public information and media relations pro- <br />grams of a promotional nature will be paid an additional <br />twenty (20) salary rate ranges (10%) above his or her <br />then current base monthly salary. <br /> <br /> 2.
