<br />Com~,nication was presented from Arthur R. Hal 1, 1523 Dresser Street, protesting
<br />the adoption of the so-called "Smut Law" ordinance~ and petition si~ed by approxi-
<br />mately 109 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter D~ Saints, requesting
<br />the adoption of an ordinance to prohibit sale of ohseene litera~zre to minors.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communica-
<br />
<br />tion and petition were received and filed.
<br />.
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of ~he Resolution, on motion of
<br />
<br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 59-244 concerning parking limtts~ions and curb markings
<br /> in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing red zones for bus stops and crosswalks c1~ erance on North Main Street
<br />from 18th Street to Santa Clara Avenue, as recommended by the Department of Public
<br />Works, and establishing a green zone at 2201 North Main Street, reference request
<br />of Johnson's Market,was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />Gu motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the oral request of
<br />Joseph Long, on behalf of the Santa Ana-Tustin Co~mUnity Chest, to place Red Feather
<br />Flags on the light standards, in the d~vnt~wa area, Septm~ber 4 through November 30,
<br />1959, for the purpose of publicizing the Co,unity Chest Ca~oaign, was granted
<br />
<br />for the period of the campaign, and for this year only.
<br />.
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of

<br />Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br /> · Resolution No. 59-245 amending sections 2 and 3 of Resolution No.
<br /> 58-281, and repealing Resolution No. 5114 and all Resolutions
<br /> amending said Resolution No. 5114"
