RESOLUTION NO. 80-165 <br /> <br />"EXHIBIT l" <br /> <br />NUMBER <br /> <br />H-4 <br /> <br />H-5 <br /> <br />H-23 <br /> <br />H-34 <br /> <br />H-35 <br /> <br />N-4 <br /> <br />CONTROL MEASURE NAME AND DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />Modified Work Schedules - Initiate, support, and set participa- <br />tion targets for the voluntary use of modified work schedules, <br />where feasible, including staggered hours, flexible schedules, <br />and 4/40, in order to promote the more efficient use of existing <br />transit, reduce the need for trip making, and facilitate ride- <br />sharing among employees. <br /> <br />Carpool Preferential Parkin9 - Promote ridesharing through <br />the provision of a targeted number preferred parking areas <br />for all employees engaging in carpooling, in order to reduce <br />the need for trip making and reduce vehicle travel miles <br />travelled (VMT). <br /> <br />Increased Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities - Promote the use <br />of bicycle and pedestrian modes of transportation for short <br />trips in order to reduce the need for vehicular trips and <br />to reduce VMT, by providing a targeted number adequate and <br />safe bicycle facilities such as bike paths and parking areas. <br /> <br />Employee Ridesharing Program - Initiate a shift to high <br />occupancy vehicles by assisting employees to form car/vanpools <br />wherever feasible. Facilitate pooling by distributing OCTD and <br />Commuter Computer information. Establish voluntary partici- <br />pation targets for employee ridesharing {for example, between <br />25% and 50% employee participation}. <br /> <br />Traffic Signal S~nchronization - Target the installation of <br />interconnected traffic signals which are synchronized at the <br />system level in order to facilitate improved air quality by <br />improving traffic flow along selected highways. <br /> <br />Energs Conservation - Street Lightin9 - Direct the efforts of <br />lighting agencies to replace all existing inefficient lights <br />and fixtures with energy efficient fixtures and lights. <br /> <br /> <br />
