Hubbard, Stsnley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> Dale H. Heind,V, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiaucewas given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend Byron Mayfield of the First Christian Church. <br /> <br />i Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of December 7 and December 14~ 1959~ reading of th e <br />Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman <br />Hubbard, seconded by Hefnly and carried. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Motorcycles <br /> <br />A tabulati~ of the one bidwas presente(l for replacement <br /> <br />of Four (4).Solo Motorcyles <br /> <br />for Police use, Specification No. 622-3, as follows: <br /> Unit Price <br />Harley-Davidson Motors $1,615.20 <br /> <br /> Total <br />$5,519.23 <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the bid of Harley- <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />iStreet improvements <br />M~l~Avenue, ProJ.ll5; <br />and Chestnut Avenue, <br />Project C-41. <br /> <br />Davids-,Motors was accepted at the unit price and at the total amount of $5,519.23. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented for the improvement of McClay Street, between <br /> <br />McFadden Street and Chestnut Avenue, Project No. 115; and the improvement of Chest- <br /> <br />nut Avenue, between McClay and Lyon Streets, Project C-41, as follows: <br /> Total Bond <br />Griffith Company $57,775.50 $6,000. Noble Company 62, 311.50 10% <br /> <br />On motion of Councilm-n Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the low bid of <br /> <br />Sully-Miller Contracting Company was accepted at the unit prices and in the total <br /> <br /> Hearing <br /> Amend. Appl. No. 300 <br />'initiated by Plann. Comm. <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />amount of $53,104.50, and all other bids were rejected. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on Amendment Application No. 300, initiated by <br />the pl,nnlng C~mmission, amending Sectional District Map 13-5-10, as shown o~ Ex- <br />hibit B, to reclassify from the R-3 District to the P-PK District properties front- <br /> <br />ing on Broadway and Sycamore Street, between Walnut and Bishop Streets; no protests <br /> <br />were received, and the hearing was closed. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded <br /> <br />by Brewer end carried, the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance amending Article IX of the Ssnta Aha Municipal Code <br /> to change distrist classification on Amendment Application No. <br /> BOO and to amend Sectional District Msp 13-5-10" <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Establish future <br />right-of-way lines <br />along Willit s-Bishop <br />St.,Delhi Road and <br />Chestnut Avenue <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed c~ file for second reading. <br /> <br />This being the date set for the continued hearing to establish future right-of-way <br /> <br />lines on both sides of Willits-Bishop Street, between proposed Fairview Street and <br /> <br />Standard Avenue, measured 42 feet from and at right angles to the survey center line, <br /> <br />George W. Allison, 602 So. Ross Street, presented petitions containing approximately <br /> <br />100 names of persons protesting the widening of the street, and on motion of Court- <br /> <br />cilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the petitions were received and <br /> <br />filed. Mr. Allison stated this setback is pr,mature, would cause a hardship on <br /> <br />the property owners, and devaluate their properties. Attorney Robert F. Waldron, <br /> <br />of the firm of Linnell & Waldron, Attorneys, 817 No. Broadway, stated his firm had <br /> <br />been retained by the Willits-Bishop Street Property Owners' Association, in regard <br /> <br />to the proposed establishment of future right-of-way lines on both sides of Willits- <br />Bishop Street, and the principal objection was that it would injure and depreciate <br /> <br />the property values of those persons who own property on these two streets, due <br /> <br /> <br />
