<br />On motion of Counc~lm-n Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1221, filed by
<br />
<br />Marvin C. and Mildred E. Trochmau, to erect two single-family dwellings on a lot
<br />
<br />with three existing single-family dwellings, on property at 352~ W. Washington
<br />
<br />Avenue and 1121 Bewley Street, in the R-1 District (Proposed R-2 District) was
<br />
<br />approved, subject to conditions, and in accordance with plot plan.
<br />
<br />Co~ication was read from the Pl-nning Co~mission reco~,ending approval of Variance
<br />
<br />Application No. 1222, filed by John H. and Dorothy P. Burgess, to erect an addition
<br />
<br />to front of existing house, to be used as a beauty shop for two operators, on
<br />
<br />property situated at 1117 South Bristol Street, in the R-1 District. Mrs. Burgess
<br />inquired whether the right-of-way had been established on Bristol Street, as she
<br />had already given ten feet of her property to the City and needed the extra five
<br />
<br />feet that would be taken up in the future widening of Bristol Street, and also
<br />
<br />objected to the condition imposed concerning landscaping. The Council having uneni-
<br />
<br />mously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded
<br />
<br />by Hubl~ard and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />

<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, action was continued
<br />
<br />until January 4, 1960, on Variance Application No. 1223, filed by the Bank of
<br />
<br />America National Trust & Savings Association, to erect an office building to be
<br />
<br />used by a social service staff, on property at 1612 Spurgeon Street, in the R-3
<br />
<br />District, subject to conditions.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br />of the Planning Commission was approved and Variance Application No. 1224, filed by
<br />
<br />R. M. Anderson, to erect an additional single-family dwelling, on property at
<br />
<br />3411 West Camile Street, in the R-2 District, was granted, subject to conditions.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Eubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the recommendation
<br />
<br />of the Planning Commissdon was approved and Variance Application No. 1226, filed by
<br />
<br />Westgate California Corporation, to remodel existing building without setback to the
<br />
<br />ultimate right-of-way line, on property at 708 North M~n Street, in C-2 District,
<br />
<br />was granted, subject to conditions.
