RESOLUTION NO. 81-13 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD THE CLASS TITLE OF <br />SECURITY GUARD AND ESTABLISH AN ASSIGNMENT PAY DIFFERENTIAL <br />FOR SAID CLASS FOR INCUMBENTS ASSIGNED ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES <br />AS LEAD SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all offi- <br />cers and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa <br />Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classi- <br />fication and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the approval <br />of the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide for increased security at various municipally <br />owned public-use facilities and areas for the prevention of burglary and vandalism <br />and the protection and safety of patrons and employees, it is now desired to estab- <br />lish a new position classification and an assignment pay differential rate for the <br />employment of "civilian" specialists to perform security guard/patrol assignments <br />not requiring sworn police authority. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further <br />amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new class title of <br />SECURITY GUARD at Salary Rate Range No. 354, $1174-$1427 per month, and <br /> <br /> b. Adding the following pay differential desgination to the list of <br />such desginations footnoted at the end of Section 3: <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />An incumbent of the class of Security Guard who is <br />assigned to and regularly serves in a lead supervisory <br />capacity over a departmental unit of security guards <br />will be paid an additional fifteen (15) salary rate <br />ranges (7.5%) above his/her then current base monthly <br />salary rata. <br /> <br />2.
