<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, Tentative Tract
<br />
<br />Map No. 371~, filed by Fairlane Homes, Incorporated, creating 15 'residential lots
<br />
<br />located east of Newhope Street and north of the Newhope Elementary School, was
<br />
<br />approved, subject to conditions, with the exception that dedication will be suffi-
<br />
<br />cient, Without improvements, when the property is acquired by Fairlane Homes, Incor-
<br />
<br />porat ed.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, that the City
<br />
<br />Council has heretofore adopted Resolution No. 60-36 on February 15, 1960, going on
<br />
<br />record as being opposed to State Assembly Bill 1985, With respect to State aid to
<br />
<br />Public Libraries; and now declaring that a representative of the Cb,tuber of Co~erc~
<br />
<br />will attend the Governor's Conference on Libraries, April 7th and 8th, 1960, in
<br />
<br />Sacramento, and will so advise the Committee of the City's opposition to State Asse~
<br />bly Bill 1~5.

<br />reported regarding the Application of the M. & W. BUs Lines, Inc.
<br />
<br />for a permit to operate a taxicab business at 201 No. Bush Street, stating that a
<br />
<br />portion of our City Code, pertaining to the procedure for the investigation and
<br />
<br />hearing regarding the operation of taxicabs, provides for a particular Board to
<br />
<br />hear these matters, and this is not possible as the Board no longer exists. We find
<br />
<br />that the application as filed is in conformance with the intent and proceedings of
<br />
<br />the Cede sections, and we know of no reason why the permit should not be issued.
