<br />No. 643-4, exclu{fing the 4, 2-color "Walk-Wait" Pedestrian Signals; bids to be
<br />opened July 18,1960. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard that the motion be amended
<br />to insert the 4, 2-color "Walk-Wait" Pedestrian Signals. Motion lost for lack of a
<br />second. It was moved by Councilman He~nly and seconded by Hubbard, that the motion
<br />be amended to include the 4, 2-color "Walk-Wait" Pedestrian Signals; bids to be opened
<br />July 18, 1960. Motion Carried.

<br />Conmmmication was presented from the Department of Public Works advising that the
<br />petition signed by h7 persons requesting a Sewer Assessment District in the area
<br />bounded by Verano Street on the west, Hazard Avenue on the north, Newhope Street on
<br />the east, and 5th Street on the south, has been checked, and it was found that 18.h3%
<br />of the area was represented by those who signed, and this is not a sufficient percent-
<br />age, as 60~ is required to initiate a district. On motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br />seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication was received, filed, and the
<br />
<br />Clerk instructed to notify the first signer on the petition of Council action.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, payment was denied
<br />for services rendered by Acker's Associated Ambulance Service, to Orange County
<br />General Hospital, as follows: Francisco Nunez Garcia, August l, 1959, from Fifth
<br />and Artesta Streets, in the amount of $26.00; Wilber W. McKim, October 3, 1959, from
<br />Russell east of Bristol, in the amount of $26.00; Nyman Wilson, October 19, 1959,
<br />from lO17½ W. Pine Street, in the amount of $26.00.
<br />
<br />On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, claim of the Pacific
<br />Telephone and Telegraph Company, San Diego, in the estimated amount of $270.00, dated
<br />June l, 1960, and corrected claim in the amount of $272.26, dated June 16, 1960, for
<br />cost of repairing damaged telephone plant located on Sugar Street, between Verano
<br />and Newhope Streets, was referred to the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the written recom-
<br />mendation of the Manager, dated June 13, 1960, for salary step increases for five
<br />employees, effective July l, 1960, was approved.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 60-122 concerning parking limitations and
<br /> curb parkings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing 2h-minute Perking Zones on the north side of Fourth Street between
<br />
<br />Patton and Garnsey, reference request of Alberta B. Rapson, was considered and passed
<br />
<br />by the following vote:
