RESOLUTION NO. 81-86 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANAAMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO DESIGNATE THE <br />CLASS OF ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF A TERMINAL CLASS AND TO <br />ADD AN ASSIGNMENT PAY DIFFERENTIAL FOR BATTALION CHIEF <br />POSITIONS ASSIGNED AS FIRE DIVISION CHIEF <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all officers <br />and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Aha <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification <br />and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the <br />City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to provide for the downward reallocation of the <br />Assistant Fire Chief position to the Battalion Chief class by designating said Assist- <br />ant Fire Chief class as a terminal class, so that, after the anticipated disability <br />retirement of the present incumbent (currently on long-term disability leave), said <br />class will be automatically deleted from the classification and pay plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is also now desired to provide a pay differential for three Battalion <br />Chief positions assigned additional management-level duties and responsibilities as <br />Fire Division Chief in accordance with the reorganized department command structure <br />authorized in the current annual budget for the department. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further <br />amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Designating the class title of Assistant Fire Chief as "terminal" by <br />adding the parenthetical identifier ("T)" next to the class title. <br /> <br /> b.
