Ball <br /> Noes, CounciLmen None <br /> Absent~ Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Manager orally reported reference the survey made in regard to the petition of <br />James Requarth, 920 Cypress ;.venue, and signed by seven residents in the 900 block <br />Cypress Avenue, requesting the removal of a "No Parking" sign on Cypress Avenue, <br />and presented an opinion survey, conducted by the Manager's office, of all persons <br />residing in the entire restricted parking, area. The Manager orally recommended <br />that final decision and determination to remove the No Parking restrictions be <br />delayed until the meeting of October 17, 1960, for the area north of Cubbon Street <br />to gi~e the Curb Usage Committee an opportunity to survey the area while school is <br />in session. James Requarth, 920 Cypress Avenue, stated the residents north of <br />Cubbon Street desire the sign removed with the exception of one owner whose proper~ <br />is only 98 feet wide, and inquired if a pickup truck or trailer has special privi- <br />leges of parking where there is a "No Parking" sign during the prohibited hours, <br />and questioned why cars are allowed to park on the south side of Cubbon Street, <br />but not on the north side? On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and <br />carried, further action on the matter ~s continued to November 7, 1960. <br /> <br /> On moti on of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following r~- <br /> quests for limited parking were denied: <br /> <br /> Norman H, Sbott~ E1 Tobrito, 418 N~ Bristol Street and John Duffy, Laundro,Lux <br /> hlO N. Bristol Street, for Limited Parking in front of ~18 North Bristol Street) <br /> and <br /> Howard Eimber, 17055 E. 17th Street, for T~o-Hour Parking on Ross Street, be- <br />tween First and ~.YaLnut Streets. <br /> <br />Communication ~s presented from ~m. Barry, Pontiac Dealer, 117 No. Sycamore Street <br />requesting reconsideration of the value of Sycamore Street as a one-way street, and <br />urging the establishment to a two-way street, and on motion of CounciLman Gould~ <br />seconded by Brewer and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution~ on motion of <br />Councilman Brewer, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 60-188 declaring intention to eliminate one-way <br /> traffic on Sycamore Street and directing the City Manager to <br /> take necessary action" <br /> <br />to establish the two-way traffic pattern in said area within sixty days, was con- <br />sidered and passed by the following vote: Councilman Heinly stated he is opposed t¢ <br />the change to two-%~y traffic on-Sycamore Street, and pointed out that Bush Street <br />is handling the one-wa~ traffic adequately. <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Stanley C. Heinly <br />Absent ~ CounciLmen None <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Helnly and carried, the communication <br />with certified copy of Resolution No. 60-9B1~ adopted by the Board of Supervisors, <br />reference the proposed vacation and'abandonment of all that portion of Riverine <br />Street lying between Tenth Street and 150 feet north of Eighth Street in the City, <br />was received, filed and the matter referred to the Attorney and ^dministrstive Star <br />for investigation and report. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, proper officials <br />were authorized to renew the lease with Allison Honer Company, for one year from Se <br />tember 19, 19~0, at the increased rental of $159.50.per month, of the property on t]~e <br />west side of Bush Street, 'between 2nd and ~rd Streets, for parking facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
