Heinly <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the communication <br />from the Manager, Downtown Santa Aha Association was received and filed, reference <br /> <br />their request for a Resolution suggesting final action regarding eltmfnation of <br />one-way streets should only be taken after giving consideration to all factors <br /> <br />affecting the overall ecanomic picture of the downtown area. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Counci]m-n Gould, secoaded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitle~: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 60-203 co~ending the Downtown Santa Aha <br />Association for its active and progressive interest in <br />the central business district and in the government of <br />the City" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the follow~ng vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Royal E. Heinly <br /> <br />The Council having ,,-~nimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br /> <br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitle~: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 60-20~ approving map and declaring intention to <br /> vacate a strip of land ten feet wide running easterly from <br /> Forrest Avenue which has been a public drainage easement" <br /> <br />as rec~ended by the Department of Public Works, and setting the date of hearing <br /> <br />on December 5, 1960, was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Heinly <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the oral requests <br /> <br />of Mayor A. Allen Hall, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly and Bob Brewer were granted to ~ <br /> <br />be absent from the City to attend the Inter-American Congress of Municipalities <br /> <br />in San Diego, with necessary expenses paid, October 16th to 22nd, 1960 for Councilmen <br />Heinly and Brewer, and October 18th to 22nd, 1960 for Mayor Hall. <br /> <br />The Manager orally recommended acceptance of Preliminary Schematic Sketches and ~ <br />plan submitted by Architect Gates W. Burrows for the construction of Fire Station <br /> <br />No. 8, located at Newhope and Fifth Streets, and on motion of Counci!m~u Hubbard, <br /> <br />seconded by Brewer --8 carried, the recommendation of the Manager was accepted an~ ' <br />the sketches and plan approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Mayor was <br /> <br />authorized to execute Change Order NO. 7, dated September 29, 1960, with The Galleges <br /> <br />Corporation, for the Police Facilities Building, and furnish and install all materi~ls <br /> <br />and labor necessary to complete dark roem and photographic laboratory as indicated <br /> <br />Drawings R-31, except as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
