RESOLUTION N0.81-206 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION TO SUBMIT A <br />GRANT APPLICATION TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION TO <br />FUND CONSTRUCTION OF GP~ADE SEPARATIONS ATSEVENTEENTH <br />STREET, AND THE SANTA FE RAILROAD TRACKS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has identified <br />improvements to the Santa Ana Amtrak passenger facility as a top transport- <br />ation priority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Intercity Commuter Station project to bring <br />about these improved passenger facilities requires acquisition of Santa Fe <br />Railroad property and recommends grade separations on Seventeenth Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, theAtchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company has in- <br />dicated a strong desire to have grade separations constructed as part of the <br />Intercity Commuter Station project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission annually adopts <br />a Grade Crossing Improvement Priority List for projects such as this; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission provides grant <br />funds to construct crossing improvements from this Priority List. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RESOLVES <br />that the Director of Transportation is authorized and directed to submit a <br />grant application to the California Public Utilities Commission for grant <br />funding of grade separation projects at Seventeenth Street, and the Santa Fe <br />Railroad tracks. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this 7th <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />day of December <br /> <br />, 1981 by the <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, <br /> Markel, McGuigan, Serrato <br />COUNCILMEN: None <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />COUNCILMEN: Acosta <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />EDWARD J.
