RESOLUTION NO. 82-18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD THE <br />CLASS TITLE OF PARAMEDIC TO THE CITY'S BASIC <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLANS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted <br />Resolution No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan <br />for all officers and employees of the City of Santa Aha; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of <br />Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and <br />the approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to add a new class to the City's Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plans for the purpose of classifying and fixing <br />levels of compensation for newly authorized civilian paramedic positions in the <br />Fire Department. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further <br /> amended by: <br /> <br />a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the class title of <br /> PARAMEDIC: and <br /> <br />Assigning said new class, in accordamce with the current negotiated <br />two-year salary adjustment schedule for represented classes of the <br />Fire Department, to the salary rate ranges on the effective dates <br />as next herein set out: <br /> <br />Effective Date <br /> <br />February 1, 1982 <br />July 1, 1982 <br />January 1, 1983 <br /> <br />Salary Rate Ranses <br /> <br />No. 415 ($1580-$1921) <br />No. 427 ($1676-$2037) <br />No. 433 ($1725-$2097) <br /> <br />Adding the following salary differential notation applicable to the <br />class of Paramedic to the list of such notations footnoted at the <br />end of Section 3: <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Employees in the civilian class of Paramedic who <br />possess a valid current license as a Registered Nurse <br />from the State of California Board of Registered <br />Nurses shall be paid at a rate set twenty (20) rate <br />ranges (10%) above their current base monthly rate. <br /> <br /> <br />
