EJC:ar 3/15/82 RESOLUTION NO. 82-4] A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO GRANT A NONEXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TO GROUP W CABLE, INC. FOR OPERATION OF A CABLE TELEVISION COMMUNICATION SYSTEM WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana, Sections 1300 et seq., the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has the power, on behalf of the city, to grant franchises or rights or make contracts providing for the furnishing to the city and its inhabitants of cable television communication systems; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 15-2500 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana heretofore selected Group W Cable, Inc., formerly Teleprompter of Santa Ana, Inc., as the proposed grantee of a nonexclusive franchise to operate a cable television communication system within the City of Santa Ana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: £. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana to grant a nonexclusive franchise to Group W Cable, Inc., to install and operate a cable television communication system upon the terms and conditions stated in that certain document entitled "An Ordinance Granting a Nonexclusive Franchise to Group W Cable, Inc., to Use the Streets and Public Ways Within the City of Santa Ana for the Operation of a Cable Television System for Fifteen Years Under Certain Terms and Conditions and Fixing an Effective Date," form dated "March 15, 1982," a copy of which is on file with the Clerk of the Council for public inspection, and to which reference is hereby made for full particulars. 2. The City Council hereby fixes Monday, the 19th day of April, 1982, at 7:30 p.m., at the Council Chambers of the City Council, City Hall, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California, as the time and place where any person having any interest therein, or any objection to the granting of said franchise, may appear before the City Council and be heard thereon.
