RESOLUTION NO. 82-129 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA SUPPORTING A POLICY OF DIRECT DATA <br />INTERCHANGE WITH TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEMS <br />IN ADJOINING CITIES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been demonstrated that interconnected traffic <br />signal systems can effectively provide an orderly assignment of right-of-way <br />to various vehicular traffic movements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an effective progressive traffic movement can reduce the <br />frequency of certain types of traffic accidents and provide public safety; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Master Plan of Arterial Highways for the County of Orange <br />establishes a continuity of the highway system throughout the County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the direct and real time interchange of data between compatible <br />control systems in adjacent cities within the County of Orange can facilitate <br />the integrated movement of vehicular traffic along contiguous master planned <br />highways and across jurisdictional boundaries. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby <br />RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND FIND that it supports a policy of such data interchange <br />with adjoining agencies where such operation is technically feasible. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this ~Oth day of .September , 1982. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Gordon Mayor <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> <br />Bricken Jty_e=_ <br />Luxembourger ~ <br />Acosta ~ <br />Serrato Absent <br />Griset Aye <br />Markel Ave <br />McGuigan ~ <br /> <br />Approved as to Form: <br /> <br />Edward d'.'Coope~, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
