RESOLUTION NO. 2003-002 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO NAME THE STREETS LOCATED WITHIN <br />THE ARMSTRONG RANCH RESIDENTIAL PROJECT <br /> <br />KDO 12/31/02 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly noticed <br />public hearing on September 23, 2002, on Street Naming No. 2002-01 and <br />voted by a vote of 6:0 (Richardson absent) that the City Council approve <br />Street Naming No. 2002-01. <br /> <br />Street Naming No. 2002-01 came before the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Aha for a public hearing on October 7, 2002. At that hearing the <br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana approved Armstrong Ranch Road, <br />but continued the approval of the remainder of the street names until <br />January 6, 2003. <br /> <br />An ad hoc committee made up of several members of the Planning <br />Commission met to establish names that are synonymous with the <br />Armstrong Ranch site and that integrate the historic characteristics and <br />natural features of the site into the residential project. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission, the Planning Commission ad hoc committee, <br />and City Council of the City of Santa Aha took into consideration the policy <br />guidelines contained in Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 33-6. <br /> <br />This project is located on a portion of the Armstrong Ranch. The <br />street names were selected to portray the historic characteristics of <br />the open ranch space. <br /> <br />The street names selected are Sheffield Road, Silver Spur, <br />Blackhawk Drive, Red Fox Road, Deerefield Road, Saddleback <br />Court and Meadowbrook Drive. One street is to be named Crawford <br />Glen in honor of Lynn "Tubby" Crawford, a former principal of Santa <br />Ana High School and Superintendent of Schools. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Santa Ana certified Environmental Impact <br />Report No. 00-01 and approved the mitigation monitoring program and <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-002 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
