REL:adg 4/11/83 RESOLUTION NO. 83-42 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE 1983 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did, by Ordinances NS -1666 and NS -1667, dated January 3, 1983, call for a general municipal election to be held in the City of Santa Ana on April 5, 1983 to fill the offices of members of the said Council to be nominated from Wards Two, Four and Six of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, in addition, pursuant to the said ordinances, the following propositions were submitted to the voters of the City at said election: PROPOSITION A - ELECTION BY WARD. Shall Section 400 of the Charter be amended to provide that each council - member shall be elected by the vote of only those electors of the ward from which such councilmember was nominated, rather than elected by the vote of the electors of the city at large? PROPOSITION B - BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. Shall Section 901 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana be amended to provide that the terms of members of City boards and commissions which are established by the Charter or by ordinance of the city council shall run concurrently with the terms of the city council members? WHEREAS, this Council did, by its Resolution No. 82-176, dated December 20, 1982, direct the Clerk of the Council to canvass the returns of the said election pursuant to Section 22932.5 of the Elections Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council has completed the canvass of the returns of the said election and has certified the results thereof to this Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: 1.
