REL:adg <br />6/22/83 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-82 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE FIRE <br />CHIEF OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO ENTER <br />INTO AUTOMATIC AND FIRE PROTECTION <br />AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA WITH NEARBY CITIES AND THE <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />WHEREAS, it is of mutual benefit to the City of <br />Santa Ana, its neighboring cities and the County of Orange <br />that the fire protection services of each such agency be <br />extended outside of its territorial jurisdiction and into <br />that of another such agency pursuant to agreements for <br />automatic aid in specified circumstances; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the Fire Chief of the City of Santa Ana is <br />hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Santa <br />Ana, agreements with the cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, <br />Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Orange, <br />Newport Beach, and Westminster, and with the County of <br />Orange with respect to its contractual provision of fire <br />protection services in the cities of Irvine and Tustin, <br />providing for the automatic aid of the City of Santa Ana's <br />fire protection services in the territorial jurisdictions <br />serviced by the aforesaid agencies. <br />2. Each such agreement shall be on such terms and <br />conditions as the Fire Chief shall deem appropriate, and <br />shall provide for such reciprocal automatic aid by the <br />contracting agency in the City of Santa Ana as the Fire <br />Chief shall determine to be in the best interests of the <br />City of Santa Ana, and shall be subject to approval as to <br />form by the City Attorney. <br />3. The Fire Chief is further authorized to act on <br />behalf of the City of Santa Ana in the amendment or <br />termination of any currently effective agreement between the <br />
