2. That Section 3.1, Special Compensation Provisions, is hereby <br />amended by: <br />a. Adding the following pay differential designations: <br />(m) An incumbent in the class of Executive Assistant who is <br />currently assigned responsibility for managing a division of the <br />Department of Administrative Services shall be paid at a rate set <br />twenty (20) rate ranges (10%) above his or her current salary step in <br />the base salary rate range herein established for the class and shall <br />retain such management designation (EM or MM) the incumbent held on <br />June 30, 1983, <br />(n) An incumbent in the classes of Plan Examiner I or II who <br />is a Registered Engineer with the State of California, or who possesses <br />a valid Plan Examiner Certificate issued by the International Confer- <br />ence of Building Officials (ICBO), will be paid at a rate set ten (10) <br />salary rate ranges (5%) above his or her then current base salary step. <br />(o) Notwithstanding other provisions of this Resolution, new <br />employees appointed in a probationary status to the class of Fire- <br />fighter, shall be paid the rate shown as Step A in a salary rate range <br />set fifty-three (53) rate ranges less than the salary rate range herein <br />established for the class of Firefighter. Such probationary employees <br />shall be advanced to Step B of such probationary rate range in accord- <br />ance with Section 6 and 7 of this Resolution. Upon successful comple- <br />tion of the probationary period, said employees shall be automatically <br />advanced to Step A of the rate range herein established for the class <br />of Firefighter and shall advance through the remaining steps of that <br />range in accordance with Section 6 and 7 of this Resolution. <br />b. Amending pay differential designation "(g)" to read as follows: <br />(g) Incumbents in the classes of Park Maintenance Worker I and <br />II and Park Maintenance Leader who are continuously and regularly assign- <br />ed to perform, either on a full-time or half-time basis, duties as a <br />parks maintenance Planner -Scheduler, will be paid an assignment pay <br />differential at a rate set above his or her then current base monthly <br />salary step in accordance with the following schedule: 20 rate ranges <br />(10%) for full-time assignment; 10 rate ranges (5%) for half-time <br />assignment. <br />3. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after September 1, <br />1983. <br />ADOPTED, this 6th day of September 1983 by the following vote: <br />
