RESOLUTION NO. 83_142 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO <br />SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION <br />TO FUND CONSTRUCTION OF GRADE SEPARATIONS AT SEVENTEENTH <br />STREET AND THE SANTA FE RAILROAD TRACKS <br />WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Santa Ana has identified <br />improvements to the Santa Ana Amtrak passenger facility as a top transpor- <br />tation priority, and <br />WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center project to <br />bring about these improved passenger facilities and the Cal -Trans Intercity <br />Commuter rail report recommends grade separations on Seventeenth Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company has indi- <br />cated a strong desire to have grade separations constructed as part of the <br />Intercity Commuter Station project; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission annually adopts <br />a Grade Crossing Improvement Priority List for projects such as this; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission provides grant <br />funds to construct crossing improvements from this priority list, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RESOLVES <br />that the Director of Transportation Services is authorized and directed to <br />submit a grant application to the California Public Utilities Commission for <br />grant funding of grade separation projects at Seventeenth Street, and the <br />Santa Fe Railroad Tracks. <br />ADOPTED this 21st day of November 1983. <br />R. uxem ourger, ayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Janice C. uy, Clerk of the Council <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br />Bricken <br />Awe <br />Acosta <br />ye <br />Griset <br />Absent <br />McGuigan <br />Johnson <br />Ave_ <br />Young <br />�Ye <br />Luxembourger <br />-n e <br />Approved as to Form: <br />Edward J.
