REL:adg <br />2/24/84 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-26 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA CLOSING SPURGEON STREET BETWEEN <br />THIRD AND FOURTH STREETS TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 21101(a) of the California Vehicle <br />Code grants authority to local agencies to close a street to <br />vehicular traffic when the legislative body determines that <br />the street is no longer needed for vehicular traffic; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City proposes to construct an open-air <br />market on Spurgeon Street between Third and Fourth Streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Directors of Planning and Development <br />Services and Transportation Services have determined that no <br />abutting property owners or occupants take or need vehicular <br />access directly from said portion of Spurgeon Street, and that <br />said portion of Spurgeon Street is not necessary for the safe <br />and convenient flow of vehicular traffic in the area; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOREv BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council finds and determines that Spurgeon <br />Street between Third and Fourth Streets is no longer needed for <br />vehicular traffic. <br /> <br /> 2. From and after March 31, 1984, Spurgeon Street between <br />Third and Fourth Streets shall be closed to vehicular traffic, <br />other than emergency and public utility vehicles. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 19th <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br />~hice C.
