RE L: adg <br />5/7/84 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-60 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA IN SUPPORT OF THE <br />CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES <br />ACT OF 1984, PROPOSITION 18. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the demand for parks, beaches, recreation <br />areas and recreational facilities, and historical resources <br />preservation projects in California is far greater than what <br />is presently available; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proper planning and development of <br />parks, beaches, recreational areas and facilities, contribute <br />not only to a healthy physical and moral environment, but also <br />contribute to the economic betterment of the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Park and Recreation Facilities <br />Act of 1984, Proposition 18, will provide $370,000,000 for park- <br />lands acquisition and development allowing local recreation <br />agencies to meet the increasing demand by providing funds for <br />extensive development of recreational outlets where they are <br />most needed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has used funds gen- <br />erated by previous bond acts of 1976-1980 to renovate countless <br />recreation facilities to improve the recreation opportunities <br />for this city's residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, some of these projects have been labor- <br />saving improvements and provided additional areas for recreation <br />activities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana that the Santa Ana City Council is in full <br /> <br /> <br />
