REL:adg <br />11/26/84 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-146 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT NO. 84-14 TO ALLOW A MOTEL ON <br />PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER <br />OF FIRST AND LYON STREETS IN THE C2 <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on <br />November 19, 1984 on Conditional Use Permit Application No. <br />84-14 to allow a motel on property located on the northwest <br />corner of First and Lyon Streets in the C2 district, said <br />application having been brought before this Council by Appeal <br />No. 509 following its approval by the Planning Commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, prior to taking action on the said <br />tion, this Council reviewed and approved the negative <br />(IS 84-99) prepared for the project; <br /> <br />applica- <br />declaration <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Based upon the evidence submitted at the abovesaid <br />hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows~ <br /> <br /> (a) The motel is near the Santa Ana Freeway and will <br />be a convenience to travel and to the tourist business. It is <br />a logical expansion of surrounding development. It therefore <br />contributes to the general well-being of the neighborhood <br />and the community. <br /> <br /> (b) There is nothing to indicate that the motel would <br />be in any way detrimental to the health, safety, or general wel- <br />fare of persons residing or working in the vicinity. <br /> <br /> (c) The motel's design and overall aesthetic appear- <br />ance will enhance the vicinity. The motel will be harmonious <br />with other improvements in the area. It will therefore have no <br />adverse effect on the present economic stability or future <br />economic development of property in the surrounding area. <br /> <br /> (d) The proposed motel complies with City standards <br />for parking, landscaping, building height and building setbacks. <br />It complies with all zoning regulations for motel use. <br /> <br /> <br />
