REL :k-1 <br />03/19/86 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86-26 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />REMOTE ACCESS NETWORK OF THE CALIFORNIA <br />IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM PROGRAM. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The California Penal Code, as amended by Chapter <br />1234 of the 1985 statute% authorizes participation of California <br />law enforcement agencies in the Remote Access Network of the <br />California Identification System (Cai-ID); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this law appropriates seven million dollars to <br />fund local implementation of the Remote Access Network; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is acknowledged that the local implementation <br />of Cal-ID will help solve crimes and provide a safer environment <br />for the citizens of our City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a local Orange County Remote Access Network <br />Board has been established to determine the placement of <br />equipment within the County and the manner of purchase; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 11112.5 of the Penal Code provides for <br />costs for equipment purchase, based upon the master plan <br />approved by the Attorney General, including State sales tax, <br />freight, insurance and installation, shall be prorated between <br />the State and local government entity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State's share shall be 70% (or approximately <br />1.722 million dollars) and the local government's share will <br />be 30% of those costs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 11112.5(d) of the Penal Code provides <br />that local government shall be responsible for all costs <br />related to site preparation, equipment maintenance, on-going <br />operational costs, file conversion costs and enhancements <br />which exceed the basic design specifications of the California <br />Department of Justice. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana that the City Council will support its <br /> <br /> <br />
