139 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86-35 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF THE <br />EXISTING CLASS OF CRIMINALISTICS LABORATORY SUPERVISOR AND <br />TO DESIGNATE SAID CLASS AS REPRESENTED MIDDLE-MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982 the City Council passed and adopted <br />Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic <br />Classification and Compensa~zon Plan for officers and Employees of the <br />City of Santa Ana; and -- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004 Article X of the City Charter of the City <br />of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, instal~ and maintain a <br />position classification and pay plan subject to o£Vil service ~r~le~- and <br />regulations and the approval of the City Council; .and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as part of a continuing program of civilianization of <br />the administrative and technical support services in the Police <br />Department, the Criminalistics Laboratory Supervisor has been assigned <br />management level responsibilities previously held by a Police Lieutenant <br />position that has been reassigned from staff to line law enforcement <br />management responsibilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the position meets all the <br />criteria for designation as a middle-management class and should be <br />designated as Represented Management (RM) along with other <br />"miscellaneous-member" and "safety-member" police management personnel; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is also desired to change the title of said class to <br />better reflect its management-level duties and responsibilities and to <br />reassign the class from the 5-Step non-management salary rate range to <br />the appropriate 3-Step management salary rate range at no increase in <br />salary level. <br /> <br /> NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is <br />further amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Changing the class title of Criminalistics Laboratory <br />Supervisor to Criminalistics Laboratory Manager; and <br /> <br /> b. Designating said retitled class <br />Middle-Management by adding the parenthetical identifier <br />following the class title; and <br /> <br />as Represented <br />"(MM)" next to <br /> <br /> c. Reassigning the class from Salary Rate Range No. 552 <br />($3082-$3747) to the 3-Step management Salary Rate Range M573 <br />($3398-$3747) at no increase in salary level. <br /> <br /> <br />
