REL :k-4 <br />05/09/86 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86- 37 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA REVOKING VARIANCE 70-39 WHICH <br />PERMITTED AN AUTOMOBILE RENTAL SERVICE WITHIN <br />AN EXISTING SERVICE STATION AT 1215 NORTH <br />GRAND AVENUE IN THE R2 DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Variance No. 70-39 was approved by the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana on January 18, 1971 to allow <br />an automobile rental service within an existing service <br />station at 1215 North Grand Avenue in the R2 District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Variance was approved subject to certain <br />conditions among which was the condition that not more than <br />15 automobiles be offered for rent on the site at any one <br />time; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on July 22, 1985, after public hearing, the <br />Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana revoked said <br />Variance due to failure of the grantee to comply with the <br />aforesaid condition; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the decision of the Planning Commission was <br />appealed to the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after public hearing held on November 18, 1985, <br />the City Council, by its Resolution No. 85-142, adopted <br />December 3, 1985, determined that revocation of the said <br />Variance was not warranted at that time, provided there was <br />compliance in the future with the conditions of said variance <br />and provided further that the grantee comply with certain <br />additional conditions pertaining to the installation of a <br />block wall and landscaping, as more fully set forth in said <br />Resolution No. 85-142; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been represented to the City Council by <br />the Planning Manager that the grantee has not complied with <br />the condition of said Variance and the additional conditions <br />of Resolution No. 85-142 in the time elapsed since the City <br />Council's previous consideration of the matter; and <br /> <br /> <br />
