RESOLUTION 86-93 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-59 TO REDUCE THE COMPENSATION LEVEL <br />OF AN EXISTING MANAGEMENT CLASS AND TO ADD THE NEW MIDDLE- <br />MANAGEMENT CLASS OF BUILDING MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City <br />of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a <br />position classification and compensation plan subject to civil service <br />rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 18, 1986, the City Council amended the City's <br />Classification and Compensation Plan for Un-represented Executive and <br />Middle-Management Personnel, Resolution No. 86-59, to add, change and <br />delete several management class titles for the purpose of implementing <br />certain organizational and staffing changes recommended by the City <br />Manager; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due to the unanticipated occurrence of a vacancy in the <br />class of Executive Assistant to the City Manager (formerly Executive <br />Director of Intergovernmental Relations), it is now desired to <br />restructure the duties and responsibilities of said class, change its <br />management designation and reduce its assigned level of compensation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to properly classify and compensate an <br />existing position responsible for managing and coordinating the <br />functions, activities and personnel assigned to the Building Maintenance <br />Division of the Finance and Management Services Department, it is also <br />now desired to add a new class title at an appropriate salary rate range <br />to the City's Classification and Compensation Plan for Unrepresented <br />Management personnel. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA: <br /> <br />1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 86-59 is hereby further <br />amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Redesignating the class of Executive Assistant to the <br />City Manager from unrepresented Executive Management to unrepresented <br />Middle-Management by moving the class title from subsection "A" to <br />subsection #B" and by changing the parenthetical identifier from (EM) to <br />(MM); and <br /> <br /> b. Reassigning said class title from Salary Rate Range No. <br />M-30 to Salary Rate Range No. M-20, a reduction in the maximum normal <br />hiring rate from $5389 to $4211 per month. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 3B of Resolution No. 86-59 is hereby further <br />amended by adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new unrepresented <br />middle-management class title of Building Maintenance Superintendent at <br />salary rate M-14, which has a minimum to maximum normal hiring rate range <br />of $3056 to $3631. <br /> <br /> <br />
