REL: adg <br />1/24/85 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 85-29 <br /> <br />(Cross-reference S.A.U.S.D. ReSolution NO. 84/85-1300) <br /> <br />A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, <br />SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY~ OF SANTA ANA TO WORK <br />COOPERATIVELY IN MITIGATING THE .IMPACT OF <br />GROWTH UPON ESSENTIAL COMMUNITY SERVICES <br /> <br /> Inasmuch as, based on present trends, both the Santa <br />Ana Unified School District and the City of Santa Ana are <br />estimating that the community's population will grow 13-14 per- <br />cent during the next five years; and <br /> <br /> Inasmuch as, both the District and the City recognize <br />the critical relationship of high quality community services to <br />the City's ability to attract superior development/redevelopment <br />projects to the community; and <br /> <br /> -Inasmuch as, both agencies have expressed a desire to <br />work cooperatively in alleviating any negative impact of such <br />projects upon essential community services including education, <br />recreation, traffic safety, cultural services, fire safety, <br />accident prevention, etc.; and <br /> <br /> Inasmuch as, all members of the greater Santa Ana <br />community acknowledge the reality that the community's youth <br />represent its future and that these youth are directly affected <br />by the quality of the City's essential services; and <br /> <br /> Inasmuch as, there are opportunities for both the <br />District and the City to cooperatively improve the quality of <br />the Community's essential services to Santa Ana's youth in the <br />following specific areas: <br /> <br />identification/purchase of <br />facilities; <br /> <br />land for new school <br /> <br /> <br />
