RESOLUTION NO. 85-32 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCREASE THE <br />ALLOCATION FROM THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY <br />FINANCING PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT <br />OF FIRST STREET BETWEEN THE SANTA ANA <br />RIVER AND THE WEST CITY LIMITS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to <br />improve First Street between the Santa Ana River and the <br />west city limits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, First Street is an important arterial <br />highway in the County of Orange and of general County <br />interest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, <br />Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a <br />County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it <br />out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any <br />City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street <br />within a City~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did include in <br />the 1983-84 and 1984-85 Fiscal Years Budget Funds for the <br />improvement of First Street as Project Numbers 1116 R/W and <br />1143C in the Arterial Highway Financing Program. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Board <br />of Supervisors of the County of Orange to increase their <br />allocation to the City from County Funds in the amounts of <br />$110,000 and $56,500 for said projects respectively, said <br />amounts are to be matched by funds from said City, to be <br />used to aid said City in the improvement of First Street <br />between the Santa Ana River and the west city limits. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of <br />Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to <br />find that said work on First Street in the manner provided, <br />is in the general County interest. <br /> <br />the City of <br />policies of <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, <br />Santa Ana agrees with the basic precepts and <br />the Arterial Highway Financing Program. <br /> <br /> <br />
