<br />hereinafter referred to as Public Agene~y~ng'entered into a contract effec-
<br />tive July 1, 19q?, and witnessed November 2~{/~6.! _and as amended effective
<br />October 1, 1951, February 1, 19§q, September 1,-q~, July 1, 1959, November 1,
<br />1960, September 1, 1963, April 1, 196~, February 1, 196§, January 16,
<br />November 1, 1970, June 1, 197q, Decenber 16, 197~, December 1, 1978, October 1,
<br />1981, and July 1, 198~, which provides ~or participation of P~hlic Asency in
<br />said Syste~, Board and Public Agency hereby ngree as follows:

<br />Paragraphs 1 through 12 are hereby stricken fi-om said contract as executed
<br />effective July 1, 198q, and hereby replaced by the following paragraphs
<br />numbered 1 through 12 inclusive:
<br />
<br />A~i words and terms used herein ~flieh are defined in the Public employ-
<br />e~e.s' Retirement Law shall have the meaning aa defined therein unless
<br />otherwise specifically provided. Mormal retirement age shall mean
<br />age 60 for local adscellaneous members, age 50 for those local safety
<br />members hired prior to October 1, 1981, and age 55 for those local
<br />safety members hired on or after October 1, 1981.
<br />
<br />Public Agency shall participate in the Public Employees' Retirement
<br />System from and after July 1, 19q? making its e~ployees as hereinafter
<br />provided, eembers of said System subject to all provisions of the
<br />Public E~ployees' Rettreeent Lam except such aa apply only on election
<br />of a contracting agency and are not provided for herein and to all
<br />amendments to said Law hereafter enacted except ~hose, ~hieh by express
<br />provisions thereof, apply only on the election of a contracting agency.

<br />Employees of Public Asency in the follouing classes shall become mem-
<br />bers of said Retirement System except such in each such class as are
<br />excluded by lam or this agreement~
<br />
<br />a. Local Fire Fighters (herein referred to aa local safety members);
<br />
<br />bo
<br />
<br />Local Police Officers (herein referred to as local safety
<br />members);
<br />
<br />Employees other than local safety members (here~n referred to as
<br />local miscellaneous members).
