REL: adg <br />7/9/85 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 85-93 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION <br />FOR FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA SENIOR CENTER <br />BOND ACT OF 1984 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SOUTH- <br />WEST SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have <br />approved the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984, which provides funds <br />to public and private non-profit agencies for the purpose of <br />acquiring, constructing, altering or renovating SeniQr Centers <br />and purchasing equipment or funding startup costs for Senior <br />Centers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Department of Aging has been <br />delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program, <br />setting up necessary procedures governing applications by public <br />and non-profit groups under the program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ said procedures established by the California <br />Department of Aging require the applicant to certify by resolution <br />the approval of applications prior to submission of said applica- <br />tions to the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the project applied for under this program <br />must be of a high priority and satisfy the most urgent nee-d with <br />priority on unmet Senior Center needs from rural, low income and <br />racial or ethnic minority areas. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under <br />the Senior Center Bond Act of 1984; <br /> <br /> 2. Certifies that the Senior Center will be available for <br />use by all senio.r citizens; <br /> <br /> 3. Certifies that said agency has or will <br />funds or other resources to operate and maintain <br />funded under this program; and <br /> <br />have sufficient <br />the Senior Center <br /> <br /> 4. Certifies that said agency has or will <br />prior to commencement of any work on the project, <br />from a non-federal or non-state source; and <br /> <br />have available, <br />matching money <br /> <br /> <br />
