REL :adg <br />8/9/85 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-96 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 85-11 TO <br />IALLOW RETAIL SALES IN THE M1 DISTRICT <br />AT 3400-3402 WEST MCARTHUR BOULEVARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the ~ity Council held a public hearing on <br />August 5, 1985 on Conditional Use Permit No. 85-11 to allow <br />retail sales in the M1 District on property located at 3400- <br />3402 West McArthur Boulevard, which application was brought <br />before this Council by Appeal No. 520 following its denial by <br />the Planning Commission; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> 1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid hear- <br />ing, this Council finds and determines as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) The proposed use would be injurious to surround- <br />ing land uses from an aesthetic, parking and land use perspective. <br />Overcrowded parking and the intensification of operations at the <br />industrial complex would have a negative imuact on the general <br />appearance and perception of the area. <br /> <br /> (b) The proposed use would inject an incompatible <br />low-end retail use into an established light industrial park, <br />inconsistent with economic development objectives for the area. <br /> <br /> (c) The proposed use is inconsistent with the purpose <br />and intent of the General Plan, which is to promote quality <br />economic development and uphold development standards. <br /> <br />2. Conditional Use Permit Application No. 85-11 is hereby <br />denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
