RESOLUTION NO. 85-130 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PUBLIC <br />SERVICES AGENCY TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS <br />FOR FUNDS ALLOCATED THROUGH THE ORANGE <br />COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST <br />STREETS AND ROADS PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has an extensive <br />arterial street system of regional significance to the <br />County of Orange in providing neighboring communities with <br />accessibility to the Federal, State and County offices and <br />to the commercial/retail centers located within the City <br />boundaries; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, many segments of the City's arterial <br />system are in need of rehabilitation both for safety and to <br />enhance their role in the total transportation system; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Governor recently signed <br />legislation creating the Orange County Unified <br />Transportation Trust fund to be administered by the Orange <br />County Transportation Commission for the purpose of <br />rehabilitating local streets and roads, arterial highways, <br />state highways, freeways and transit guideways; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation <br />Commission recently adopted the Streets and Roads component <br />of the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust fund for <br />the purpose of rehabilitating arterial streets; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation <br />Commission has begun to accept applications for matching <br />(50/50) funds on a competitive project merit basis for the <br />three (3) year project period of the Orange County Unified <br />Transportation Trust Streets and Roads program; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Executive <br />Director of the Public Services Agency is authorized to <br />submit applications for matching funds allocated through the <br />Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Streets and Roads <br />program for the purpose of repairing and resurfacing certain <br />arterial streets of regional significance in the City of <br />Sa'nra Aha; and, <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total estimated <br />cost of the arterial improvements identified to date is <br />$5,764,400, with the City's 50 percent share of this amount <br />derived from Transportation Area Fees and Gas Tax revenues <br />for rehabilitation of the following arterial segments: <br /> <br /> <br />
