003 <br /> <br />RES'OLUTION 87 - 2 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE APPLI- <br />CATION FOR FUNDS THROUGH THE ORANGE <br />COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST <br />STATE HIGHWAY AND FREEWAY PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is served by a network of <br />state freeways including the Santa Aha Freeway (I-5), the Garden <br />Grove Freeway (R~22), and the Costa Mesa Freeway (R-5§); and. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the combination of this freeway network and the <br />City's arterial system provide regional-accessibility to the Fed- <br />eral, State, and County offices, and the commercial, recreational <br />and employment centers located within the City's boundaries; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the interface between the state freeways and <br />the City's arterial system is of utmost importance in providing <br />an operationally efficient regional traffic circulation program; <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Governor has signed legislation creating <br />the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust Fund to be admin- <br />istered by the Orange County Transportation Commission for the <br />purpose of making improvements to state highways and freeways; <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission is <br />now accepting appli~ations for matching funds to be allocated <br />through the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust State <br />Highway and Freeway program for the purpose of operational and <br />safety improvements; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA; <br /> <br /> That the Executive Director of the Public Works Agency <br />is authorized to submit an appli~atton for matching funds allo- <br />cated through the Orange County Unified Transportation Trust <br />State Highway and Freeway program for the purpose of Widening the <br />Southbound Off-Ramp of the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway at Dyer Road; <br />and, <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the total estimated cost of <br />the subject project is $316;000 with [he City's matching share <br />($158,000) to be derived from Transportation Area Fees and Gas <br />Tax revenues; and, <br /> <br /> <br />
