REL:adg-26 <br />3/19/87 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-28 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT NO. 86-18 TO ALLOW A SALVAGE <br />YARD AT 1016 NORTH SANTIAGO STREET IN <br />THE M2 DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on March 16, <br />1987 on Conditional Use Permit Application No. 86-18 to allow a <br />salvage yard at 1016 North Santiago Street in the M2 district, <br />said application having been brought before this Council by <br />Appeal No. 545 following its approval by the Planning Commission; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, prior to taking action on said ~application, <br />this Council reviewed and approved the negative declaration <br />(IS 86-135) prepared for the project; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Based on the evidence submitted at the abovesaid <br />hearing, this Council finds and determines as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) That the proposed use will provide a <br />service or facility which will contribute to the <br />general well being of the neighborhood or the <br />community since it would provide an additional <br />facility to recycle metal waste, ultimately <br />preserving non-renewable natural resources. <br /> <br /> (b) That the proposed use will not, under <br />the circumstances of the particular case, be <br />detrimental to the health, safety, or general <br />welfare of persons residing or working in the <br />vicinity since the site is well screened from <br />view and no surplus materials are stored outside <br />the perimeter of the site. <br /> <br /> (c) That the proposed use will not adversely <br />affect the present economic stability or future <br />economic development of property in the surrounding <br />area since it is consistent with current land uses <br />in the scope of service provided in the vicinity. <br /> <br /> <br />
