RESOLUTION NO. 87-57 <br /> <br />REL:adg-26 <br />3/17/87 <br />Rev. 5/5/87(jd) <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING <br />THE WASHINGTON SQUARE PERMIT PARKING <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XI (commencing with Section <br />36-480) of Chapter 36 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana is authorized to adopt a resolution <br />establishing Permit Parking Districts wherein parking restrictions <br />apply to all vehicles except vehicles which have been issued <br />parking permits pursuant to said Article; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that the <br />Washington Square residential neighborhood is in need of a Permit <br />Parking District in order to protect its integrity against the <br />intrusion of vehicular parking incidental to commercial and <br />governmental activities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The Washington Square Permit Parking District is <br />hereby established, to consist of that area of the City of Santa <br />Ana bounded on the north by Seventeenth Street, on the east by <br />Flower Street, on the south by Civic Center Drive and on the west <br />by Bristol Street. Said district does not extend to or include <br />said perimeter streets. <br /> <br /> 2. The parking restrictions imposed pursuant to said <br />Article XI and this Resolution shall apply to any block within <br />the Washington Square Permit Parking District only after a <br />petition signed by the owners of seventy-five percent (75%) or <br />more of the residential lots abutting such block have filed a <br />petition with the Executive Director of Public Works expressing <br />their desire for such parking restrictions, and after signs <br />indicating the parking restrictions on such block have been <br />erected in accordance with said Article XI. <br /> <br /> 3. No person shall park any vehicle between the hours <br />of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on any portion of any street within <br />the Washington Square Permit District as to which signs have been <br />erected indicating the application of permit parking restrictions, <br />except persons and vehicles exempted from such parking restrictions <br />pursuant to said Article XI. <br /> <br /> <br />
