363 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-75 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA CALLING FOR THE FORMATION OF A PROJECT AREA <br />COMMITTEE FOR THE BRISTOL CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT <br />PROJECT AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES THEREFOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment Law <br />(Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 et seq.) the Planning Commission <br />of the City of Santa And has selected the boundaries and approved a <br />Preliminary Plan for the Bristol Corridor Redevelopment Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law requires <br />that the City Council call upon the residents and existing community <br />organizations in a redevelopment project area to form a representative <br />Project Area Committee ("PAC"), to be approved by the City Council within <br />60 days after the redevelopment project area is selected. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council hereby calls upon the residents, existing <br />community organizations and businesses within the - Bristol Corridor <br />Redevelopment Project Area to form a PAC. <br /> <br /> 2. The PAC shall be comprised of not less than 10 nor more <br />than 25 members, and shglt include, as required by Section 33385 of the <br />Community Redevelopment Law, residential owner occupants, residential <br />tenants, buslnesspersons, and members of existing community organizations <br />within the Project Area. Only persons who are in one or more of the <br />aforementioned categories are eligible to serve as PAC members and to <br />participate in the selection of the PAC members. <br /> <br /> 3. City staff shall hold a minimum of two public meetings for <br />the purposes of providing information to the aforementioned groups <br />regarding the proposed redevelopment of the Project Area and PAC <br />formation procedures; soliciting the names of persons, businesses, and <br />community organization representatives who wish to participate in the <br />redevelopment plan adoption process by serving on the PAC; and forming <br />the PAC. The City staff shall give notice of such meetings by mailing, <br />delivering, and/or distributing meeting announcements to Project Area <br />residents, businesses, and community organizations, and shall cause <br />notices of such meetings to be published in the Orange County Resister, a <br />newspaper of general circulation. <br /> <br /> 4. The PAC members shall be elected by vote of persons <br />attending the above noticed election meeting. After PAC members are <br />elected, the members shall select their own chairperson, vice- <br />chairperson, and other officers. The members shall serve without <br />compensation. <br /> <br /> <br />
