~L:mb(11) <br />9/30/87 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING <br />THE FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF <br />THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION <br />"SUPER" COMMITTEE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County's quality of life is seriously <br />challenged by growing traffic congestion; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the Spring of 1987 the Orange County <br />Division, League of California Cities created Transportation <br />"Super" Committee composed of 15 City Council members and 10 <br />City Managers for the purpose of finding a way to resolve <br />our transportation problems; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Transportation "Super" Committee worked <br />for 5 months to identify the problems and solutions and identi- <br />fied available financing mechanisms to fund those solutions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Transportation "Super" Committee has <br />identified that there are solutions and identified steps to <br />expand Orange County's roadway capacities to meet current <br />demands and recommends strong transportation planning measures <br />to assure Orange County's transportation crisis does not <br />reoccur; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 26 cities and county have worked with <br />the Transportation "Super" Committee to come up with this plan <br />to meet current transportation needs in Orange County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Transportation "Super" Committee pre- <br />sented their findings and recommendations in the report "Orange <br />County Transportation: Meeting the Challenge Head-On." <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of Santa Ana that the Transportation "Super" Com- <br />mittee's findings and recommendations as presented in the report <br />"Orange County Transportation: Meeting the Challenge Head-On" <br />be supported for approval and full implementation at the <br /> <br />, i I <br /> <br /> <br />
