The Gala Grand Opening Event will be held <br />on Saturday, May 4, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br />BOARD TASK FORCE REPORT <br /> <br />MARKETING TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Chair Reyna noted that the Task Force met and that the English versions <br />of the brochures were now ready, and the Task Force is now working on <br />the final details for a Poster Contest for Children to create the "ideal <br />community" <br /> <br />BUDGET AND PROGRAM TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Director Metzler noted that the Task Force met and their work was <br />reflected in the recommendation contained in Agenda Item No. 1 relative <br />to revisiting the proposed funding allocations and potential funding options <br />for the Santa Ana Empowerment Zone <br /> <br />EDUCATIONAL AD HOC TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Chair Reyna reported that the Educational Task Force has begun <br />discussion relative to the educational direction the board should follow <br /> <br />BOARD AND COMMITTEE AD HOC TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Empowerment Zone Manager Bill Manis reported that the next meeting <br />would be held on March 12, 2002 and that changes to the organizational <br />chart were proposed at the first meeting held on February 20, 2002 <br /> <br />STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />FUNDED QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT, Bill Manis <br /> <br />Empowerment Zone Manager Bill Manis reported that staff has not <br />received quarterly reports from the Assistance League of Santa Ana for <br />the Serving Eager Eyes Program, the Dental Center, Puente a la Salud <br />Family Health Clinic, and Interval House. He noted that staff has called <br />and/or mailed each of the contacts for these programs twice and sent a <br />letter informing each program that reimbursement funds will be withheld <br />until the reports are submitted. <br /> <br />SAEC MINUTES 6 FEBRUARY 27, 2002 <br /> <br /> <br />
