RESOLUTION NO. 88-35 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CLASSIFI- <br />CATION AND COMPENSATION CHANGES PERTAINING TO SEVERAL <br />LIBRARY AND LEGAL SECRETARIAL CLASSES AND TO THE LIST <br />OF PART-TIME CLASSES OF ~MPLOYMENT. <br /> <br /> ~, Section 1004 Article X of the City Charter of the City <br />of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a <br />position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and <br />regulations and the approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHt~EAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted <br />Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the basic Classification <br />and Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Aha; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said <br />Resolution; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of the implementation of the Clerical Study <br />recoumendations in the Library, there exists an inequity and confusion caused <br />by the assignment of various classifications at varying pay rates to similar <br />job duties; and <br /> <br /> I~qERFAS, there exists a pay inequity between the classes of Senior <br />Legal Secretary and Senior Secretary which are comparable in job duties and <br />responsibilities but not in pay; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the pay levels for part-time classes of employment have <br />not been adjusted for several years, with the result that current pay rates <br />are considerably behind those paid elsewhere in the local labor market; and <br /> <br /> Ifl{ERFAS, it is now desired to effect certain classification and <br />compensation changes in Resolution No. 82-110 to resolve the above stated <br />problems. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY ~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA: <br /> <br />amended by: <br /> <br />That Section 5 of Resolution No. 82-110 is hereby further <br /> <br /> a.
