REL:mb(15) <br /> /17/88 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ADOPTING A FEE FOR THE <br />FILING OF INITIATIVES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Elections Code was amended <br />in 1987 to require that the proponents of any initiative <br />petition file with the City Clerk a notice of intent to <br />circulate petitions (Elections Code Sections 4002 and 4002.5); <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is obliged to prepare a ballot <br />title and summary within fifteen days. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> In accordance with Elections Code section 4002(b) <br />any person filing a Notice of Intent to circulate a petition <br />with the City Clerk shall pay a fee of two hundred dollars <br />($200) to be refunded to the filer if, within one year of <br />the filing the notice of intention, the City Clerk certifies <br />the sufficiency of the petition. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 5th day of July , 1988. <br /> <br />ATTEST .' <br /> <br /> rk of the Council' / <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> <br />Young Aw <br />McGu igan Aye <br />Hart Absent <br />M ay Ave <br />Acosta Ave <br />Pulido Ave <br />Griset Ave <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />
