REL:mb(34) <br />11/29/88 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />NO. 87-16, SEEKING TO ALLOW A <br />BUDDHIST TEMPLE ON PROPERTY LOCATED <br />AT 5009 WEST FIFTH STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on Novem- <br />ber 21, 1988, on Conditional Use Permit Applica[ion No. 87-16, <br />to allow a Buddhist temple on property located at 5009 West <br />Fifth Street in the R1 District; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. Based upon the evidence submitted at the abovesaid <br />hearing this Council finds and determines as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) The church and its associated uses will not pro- <br />vide a facility which will contribute to the general well being <br />of the neighborhood because of the intensification of a residen- <br />tial lot into this single family neighborhood. <br /> <br /> (b) The church and associated uses with its intrusion <br />into the single family neighborhood will be detrimental to the <br />health, safety, or general welfare of persons living or working <br />in the area. <br /> <br /> (c) The proposed church facility may have an adverse <br />effect on the economic stability or future economic development <br />of the area due to the church's physical, geographical location, <br />bisecting both blocks on Fifth and Sixth Streets and the resi- <br />dential neighborhood. <br /> <br /> (d) The proposed church facility will adversely <br />affect the General Plan by allowing an intensification of use <br />to intrude into a residential neighborhood and disrupt the <br /> <br /> <br />
