RESOLUTION NO. 89- 093 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO ALLOW, COMPROMISE OR SETTLE <br />WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS UP TO <br />$10,000 MAXIMUM <br /> <br />9/19/89 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is permissably self- <br />insured for Workers' Compensation pursuant to the provisions of <br />Sections 3700 et seq. of the California Labor Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, California Government Code ~ 935.4 allows <br />the city council of a charter city to authorize an employee of <br />the city to allow, compromise or settle claims not exceeding <br />$10,000 against the city; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the <br />City Manager, with the advice and consent of the City Attorney, <br />to allow, compromise or settle workers' Compensation claims <br />against the City of Santa Ana in amounts not exceeding $10,000. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Manager of the City of Santa Ana, or his <br />or her authorized delegate, is authorized to allow, compromise <br />or settle claims made under the Workers' Compensation laws of <br />the State of California against the City of Santa Ana in amounts <br />not exceeding $10,000. <br /> <br /> 2.
