RESOLUTION NO. 89- 116 A RESOI33TION OF ~HE CITY COL~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING THE HIGHLAND PARK PERMIT PARKING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XI (c~t,L~ncing with Section 36-480) of Chapter 36 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana is authorized to adopt a resolution establishing Permit Parking Districts wherein parking restrictions apply to all vehicles except vehicles which have been issued parking permits pursuant to said Article; and WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that the Highland Park residential neighborhood is in need of a Permit Parking District in order to protect its integrity against the intrusion of vehicula~ parking from nearby apartment c~Lplexes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Highland Park Permit Parking District is hereby established, to consist of that area of the City of Santa An~ bounded on the north by Camile Street, on the east by Fairview Street, on the south by McFadde~ Avenue, and on the west by the Santa Ana River. Said district extends to and includes Camile Street. Said district does not extend to or include Fairvi~ Street or McFadden Avenue. 2. The parking restrictions imposed pursuant to said Article XI and this ~solution shall apply to any block within the Highland Park Permit Park- ing District only after a petition signed by the owners of seventy-five per- cent (75%) or r~re of the residential lots abutting such block have filed a petition with the Executive Director of Public Works expressing their desire for such parking restrictions, and after si~s indicating the parking restric- tions on such block have been erected in accordance with said Article XI. 3. No person shall park any vehicle any time on any portion of any street within the Highland Park Permit Parking District as to which signs have been erected indicating the applications of permit parking restrictions, except persons and vehicles excepted frcm such parking restrictions pursuant to said Article XI. 4. Permit parking restrictions in the Highland Park Permit Parking Dis- trict shall not apply to the side of any street adjacent to any non- residential use.
