REL:mb(7) <br />11/14/89 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90~16 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE <br />FIRE CHIEF OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO <br />ENTER INTO AUTOMATIC AND FIRE PROTEC- <br />TION AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA WITH NEARBY CITIES AND THE <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is of mutual benefit to the City of Santa <br />Ana, its neighboring cities and the County of Orange that the <br />fire protection services of each such agency be extended outside <br />of its territorial jurisdiction and into that of another such <br />agency pursuant to agreements for automatic aid in specified cir- <br />cumstances; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Fire Chief of the City of Santa Ana is hereby <br />authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, agree- <br />ments with the cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, <br />Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Orange, Newport Beach, and <br />Westminster, and with the County of Orange with respect to its <br />contractual provision of fire protection services in the cities <br />of Irvine and Tustin and with respect to the unincorporated <br />areas of Midway City and Sunset Beach, providing for the automatic <br />aid of the City of Santa Ana's fire protection services in the <br />territorial jurisdictions serviced by the aforesaid agencies. <br /> <br /> 2. Each such agreement shall be on such terms and condi- <br />tions as the Fire Chief shall deem appropriate, and shall provide <br />for such reciprocal automatic aid by the contracting agency in <br />the City of Santa Ana as the Fire Chief shall determine to be <br />in the best interests of the City of Santa Ana, and shall be <br />subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> 3. The Fire Chief is further authorized to act on behalf <br />of the City of Santa Ana in the amendment or termination of any <br /> <br /> <br />
