RESOLUTION NO. 90-026 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD THE CLASS TITLE <br />OF POLICE INFORMATION OFFICER AND CHANGE TWO EXISTING <br />CLASS TITLES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of <br />the city of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install <br />and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to <br />civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City <br />Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982 the City Council passed and <br />adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and reestablishing the Basic <br />Classification and Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of <br />the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a classification and compensation study <br />requested by the Police Department and conducted by the Personnel <br />Services Department recommends the title of Police Information <br />officer be established at a market-competitive pay level <br />commensurate with the specialized, professional level duties <br />performed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under State of California Business and <br />Professions Code Section 6732, certain specific class titles in the <br />engineering field are reserved exclusively for personnel registered <br />as professional engineers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to add the new classification <br />of Police Information Officer at an appropriate pay range and <br />change two existing class titles in the engineering series. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution 82-110, as amended, is <br />hereby further amended by: <br /> <br /> a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the <br />new classification of POLICE INFORMATION OFFICER at Salary Rate <br />Range No. 509, $2500-3040 per month. <br /> <br /> b. Designating as "terminal" the assignment <br />designation of "Media Relations officer" for the class of Police <br />Service Officer by adding the parenthetical identifier "(T)" so <br />that the assignment will be automatically deleted from the basic <br />classification and compensation plan upon being vacated by its last <br />remaining incumbent. <br /> <br /> c. Changing the existing class titles of Assistant <br />Traffic Engineer and Associate Traffic Engineer to Assistant <br />Engineer-Traffic and Associate Engineer-Traffic, respectively, at <br />no change in existing salary levels. <br /> <br /> 3'69 <br /> <br /> <br />
