<br /> On motion of Council m~n Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the Purchasing
<br /> Agent was authorized to advertise for bids to furnish and deliver one 1500 gallon
<br /> flusher and spray tank, and one s~l£-propelled vibrating compactor-roller, Specifi-
<br /> cation No. 623-20; bids to be opened October 16, 1961.

<br /> On motion of Counc~lm-n~ Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the request of
<br /> the Manager was approved to declare as surplus the buildings located at 642 North
<br /> Garnsey Street, ~628 North ~artoa Street, 630 North Parton Street and 6B4 North
<br /> Garnsey Street, excluding real property, and authorization granted to dispose of
<br /> same by sale or demolition.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the oral re-
<br /> quest of the Manager was approved for the transfer of appropriation from Fund
<br /> 51-2~1 (Recreation and Parks - Administration) to Fund 51-263 (Recreation and Parks$
<br /> Windsor Park), in the amount of $4,000.00.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded b~ Schlueter and carried, the oral reques
<br /> of the M~ger was approved to employ Goode and Goode, Appraisers, 209 West Eighth
<br /> Street, for the appraisal of properties described in Resolution No. 60-22, being
<br /> the Cory property south of First Street for the construction of proposed Fairview
<br /> Street, not to exceed the s~ of $2,750.00; and Resolution No. 61-127, being the
<br /> Pabst Brewing Company property south of Westminster Avenue for the construction
<br /> and extension of Fairview Street, not to exceed the s~a of $1,750.00.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the application
<br /> of The National Foundation - March of Dimes, Orange County Chapter, was granted to
<br /> solicit funds January 1 through 31, 1962, for patient aid, medical research, profes~
<br /> sional and public education in polio, arthritis and birth defects.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, the application
<br /> of Santiago Girl Scout Council was granted to solicit funds November 3 through 18,
<br /> 1961, through the annual sale of calendars, with proceeds to be used for their own
<br /> troop program.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Manager was
<br /> instructed to negotiate with Gethsemani Methodist Church of Santa Ana, for rental
<br /> of property at 709 W. 6th Street, at a rental of not less than $250.00 per month,
<br /> and the City to be entitled to possession of the property after three-monthS' notice
<br /> proper authorities authorized to execute a rental agreement with the Church at the
<br /> price and under the terms provided, also providing for a three-months' revocation
<br /> notice.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the application of
<br /> American Chapla.in's Corps, Inc., 14141 Shirley Street, Westminster, to solicit fund:
<br /> October, November and December, 1961, to help provide funds to support a chaplain i
<br /> county institutions, not at present under Civil Service and not paid frc~ tax funds~
<br /> was referred to the Administrative Staff for further investigatic~ and report at the
<br /> next meeting.

<br />Ccemaunication was presented from Larry Golden,ilO W. First Street, with check for
<br />$50.00, requesting the abandonment of the 20-foot north and south alley, to make full
<br />use of the land between the east line of Main Street and the west line Of Cypress
<br />Avenue, consisting of Lots 13 to 17 inclusive, fronting on the west side of Cypress
<br />Avenue, and Lots 18 to 22 inclusive, fronting on the east side of Main Street, betwee
